Chinese FM reiterates call for peace talk to resolve Ukraine crisis

The Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Qin Gang, has reiterated China’s position on promoting peace talks for the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis during his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Meeting of Foreign Ministers. Both sides agreed to strengthen communication and coordination in various fields, deepen people-to-people exchange, and build the SCO into a platform for mutually beneficial cooperation among member states. They also pledged to oppose a new Cold War, maintain regional peace, and strengthen cooperation within multilateral frameworks.
