According to the China’s space agency, the China National Space Administration plans to launch a new interplanetary mission called Tianwen-2. The mission will target a small near-Earth asteroid called 2016 HO3, sample it, return to Earth, and then head out again to a main-belt comet 311P. this is the second mission in China’s Tianwen series of Planetary endeavors, following the successful arrival of Tianwen-1 on Mars in 2021.
The Administration stated that the Tianwen-1 will continue to perform multiple tasks related to the red planet. The Tianwen-2 mission has obtained official approval, and scientist will hold an academic seminar about its scientific exploration and data processing technologies in April.
