Millions of people around the world are celebrating the Persian new year known as “Nowruz.” The ancient holiday goes back thousands of years and is celebrated in Iran and dozens of other countries.
“Nowruz” means which means a new day is a celebration of Spring, the re-birth of nature and new beginnings. It’s the biggest and the most festive celebration of the year for Iranians. In the days before, people buy new clothes, flowers and gifts and prepare for traditional meals with families and friends. “Nowruz” is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage.
