Nine teenagers were shot at an after-prom party in Jasper, Texas, US, on Sunday. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has reported that none of the injuries are life-threatening, and the victims were taken to two hospitals. The number of shooters remains unknown. The victims, aged between 15 and 19, were attending Jasper High School’s prom the night before the incident. The school superintendent has promised to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. This shooting follows the shooting in Dadeville, Alabama, where four people were killed and 32 wounded at a birthday party. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, firearms have become the leading cause of death for American children and teens, surpassing motor vehicle accidents.
